Our Team
Julian Martinez and Jesse Gaddy are the partners behind Barbareño, a Michelin-recognized Santa Barbara restaurant. Together, they bring the same balance of creativity, craft, and hospitality to Bistro Amasa, creating a space that feels both refined and relaxed, where great food and genuine connection come naturally.

"A place to reward the time you can spend with those you love"
On a rainy night, my son and I sat on the outdoor porch, warmed by a heater overhead and the comfort of wood under foot and the history of the Upham Hotel. Erika, our server, extended that comfort with joyful and seemingly effortless care to ensure we missed nothing of the fully satisfying fare, somehow rich and light simultanously. This is a place to reward the time you can spend with those you love.

"Another Gem in SB!"
Happy to have another gem open up in SB! With the people from Barbareñeo involved, of course it's good. Steak Frites, Waldorf salad, and Croquettes were all stand outs. The cocktail menu is well thought out. Classics drinks with a subtle, interesting twist. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Had an exceptional experience at Bistro Amasa. From the cozy atmosphere to the warm hospitality, knowledgeable staff, and outstanding menu - everything was perfect. Can personally recommend the steak frites, bread & butter, the Waldorf salad, Gnocchi, and you can't go wrong with anything off their wine & cocktail list.
